This week on my 20% time I decided to learn how to add borders to my photos. This tutorial was very fast and simply to do I learned it from Graphic Reporter  done by Lesa. All I had to do was go on Photoshop and go to my layers on my right hand side and go to Layer Palette to add it to the photo. Then after I just I just added the color of layer I wanted which was black and made sure it was the right color. At last I just went to Edit menu and choose Stroke the last touch was to change the pixel to what ever size i wanted my border to be and just made sure that the opacity was 100%. This is my result click here.

Well this week I decided to make a picture light and add some black on to the edges of the picture. Where I learned how to do this format was on Graphic Reporter the graphic reporter that thought me how to do this was Lesa she makes these lessons easy to understand. What I had to do to my picture was add an other layer to my photo. After I added the layer I used the filter called Correct Camera Distortion then changes the mid point and amount of the picture to add less light on to it and add some black on to the edges. Then you are all done this was a really easy tutorial to do but you don’t have to do the same amount and mid points you can change it up like I did. Check this out for a sample.

  • Then when you put one of the pictures on top of the other then u fix it how you would like to adjust it
  • Next go to the layer styles and change the stroke to gray
  • You can also add different affects of gray and black or other colors
  • Drag the top down to the bottom layer and it looks like you reflex it
  • Then the last thing is add a little blur to the background of the picture and your all done
  • The next tutorial is how to fix text on a layer
  • You change it to small objects
  • Then use the filter motion blur with a large amount
  • Also the layer polar to fix it the way it was again but with a lot of blur
  • Next just adjust it to the center
  • With those filters you can also add different affects
  • The last tutorial is about how to get rid of the things on the background of the picture
  • You use the pen tool to just drag around what you would like to get rid of

Photoshop Tv
  • This week on Photoshop Tv the first tutorial was how to overlap pictures and add borders on them
  • The first step was to add all the pictures you would like on the photoshop and and a new layer to each picture
  • Then on the picture you would like to add the borders to you would use the strokes
  • You can also lower the capacity layer to a picture that is overlapping so it blends in to the other pictures
  •  Then you just do that to the pictures that you would like and your all done
  • The next tutorial was about how to add a picture on to a book
  • But you would use illustrator to do this one
  • With the clicker you would drag it from one side to the other so you can get a perfect corner and the book looks like you are flipping the page
  • The next step would be to add the picture to the book and make it the size you would like to
  • Then go the to object layer and go to make to top object and the photo goes in the book automatically
  • Then you can just upload it to your desktop and then open the picture to photoshopand do what you would like to on photoshop

Photoshop Tv
  • The first tutorial is brought by Matt, he talks about how to soften the skin on the photo
  • He uses a new layer on the photo and the filter as high pass
  • He blurs the picture then goes again to use a different filter to soft light and knocks out all the gray of the picture
  • The picture looks a little more sharpen
  • To finish the picture he inverts the high pass invert and uses the filter invert and you get the soft focus l
  • And if you would like to sharpen the picture more you can
  • The second tutorial has to do with adding a gratean and just add 20% of that
  • Then you would just drag it to the background of the picture
  • Also you would add a blur to the picture in the middle
  • What these does is it let’s you have a picture as if it was taken in a photo studio and not just a regular picture
  • The last tutorial has to do with a pattern
  • The first step would be to fix the size to 400
  • Then click on an area and make that a new layer
  • Go to the filter menu and chose other off set and set that to 200
  • After that start feathering the ares and putting them in your duplicate picture
  • Then overwrite it then simply save it and open it to see your seam

Notes
  • In this week tutorial on Photoshop Tv they thought you how to focus on a part of a picture
  • In the first tutorial they used just one layers and they used a filter called the blur and under the blur you go to lens blur and then on lens blur they tell you to go to the depth map and add the layer mask
  • Then that filter lets you choose where you would like to focus on the picture
  • In the second tutorial they have there guest Mr.Cross full name Dave Cross teach it which is how to add a picture to a banner like for example a job banner with the bosses picture on it
  • The way you would do it would be to add a layer to the banner and then define the picture
  • You would go under photo and replace the name to which ever name you would want and then you would choose the photo you would wish to put on your banner
  • Then you would just inport it to your computer so it would save
  • Other things you may use the banner for would be like a business card
  • The third tutorial was from Matt
  • This week Matt teaches you how to get rid of spots on your photo
  • The way you would do it would be with the the spot healing and just go over the photo where you would like to take the spots away
  • It also allows you to take away the cracks from the picture with flowers

This week in my Photoshop Tutorial on Grafx-Design I learned how to brighten up a picutre. It was very simple I had to check the histogram of the picture. A histogram is a graphical representation of the luminance values in any given image. So histogram let’s you know the values and how much the picture is brighten up. When you are ready to brighten you look at the graph that show’s you the mid tones and the highlights of the picture. Then all that is left is for you to move the arrows to brighten it up as much as you would like. Then you have your picture and how bright you would like it.

Multi Touch Computing

In class we watched a video by Ted Talks featuring Jeff Han he talked about multi touch computing and introduced a high-resolution multi-touch computer screen. He talked to us about the multi computer screen and the amazing things it can do to make our life’s easier. Multi touch computing enables a user to interact with a system with more than one finger at a time, as in chording and bi-manual operations. Such sensing devices are inherently also able to accommodate multiple users simultaneously, which is especially useful for larger interaction scenarios such as interactive walls and tabletops. It is a great device an other definition for multi touch is multi easier because it just allows to do things faster and easier and ever before. Jeff makes this new technology sound so much fun so am hoping this surface computing comes out soon. This surface computing is also very similar to the iphone which is a new phone that is just multi touch and very useful for when you are out on the road you can use it to find out things and how to get places. This surface computing as come a long way and am hoping for the best when it comes out.

We also learned about the launch that Microsoft will have. The new launch is Surface Computing, Surface Computing is a a new category of surface computing products from Microsoft.  This Microsoft surface computing will brake down  traditional barriers between people and technology. Surface turns an ordinary tabletop into a vibrant, dynamic surface that provides effortless interaction with all forms of digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects. At the end of this year they are talking about having these surface computing out on hotels, restaurant and other public entertainment venues. I think this would be a great idea to make everything a lot easier and to help everyone in their everyday life’s. This surface computing can help in so many ways in careers and just in your home.
